Neighbourhood Network Newsletter

464 - Friday 30th January 2026

A very Happy New Year to you all and welcome to our first newsletter of 2026

Important news about the Neighbourhood Network

As many of you will know, Neighbourhood Network has been a charity since 2011. It was originally established to support Neighbourhood Watch and crime prevention, and over the years it has continued to grow and evolve into the organisation we are today.

In 2024, we updated the charity’s objects to better reflect both our charitable work and the needs of our beneficiaries. While our revised objects continue to highlight partnership working and the prevention and reduction of crime, they also recognise our expanding work through the Community Centre project and the Menopaus’ull Support Network, reflecting our commitment to health and social welfare.

In recent years, we have faced increasing challenges in securing local funding to continue supporting grassroots Neighbourhood Watch Groups across Hull. As a result, a difficult decision has been made and this support is returning to Hull City Council. Going forward, all Neighbourhood Watch enquiries should be directed to Safer.Hull@hullcc.gov.uk. We appreciate your patience during this transition period.

All other areas of Neighbourhood Network’s work will continue as usual. We will still be supporting vulnerable residents and victims of crime through our Safer You project, running our busy crime reduction shop and delivering our ongoing cycle crime reduction project.

Our newsletter will also continue, moving to a monthly format and featuring even more news and updates about our services, projects and activities, along with local news features, events and opportunities.

We can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store for us,

Lucy, Sarah, Katie, Tamsyn & Ava
