Could you spare just a little time to volunteer with FoodCycle?
FoodCycle is excited to be launching a project on the 26th May in the Marfleet area of the city after engaging with Rooted in Hull, The Hull Food Partnership and other community partners to find where their community meals can best fit in the fantastic network of food provision in Hull. FoodCycle excited about being hosted by the TimeBank and look forward to a partnership that will benefit those in Marfleet and beyond. Their model is simply, taking surplus food and transforming it into a 3 Course Meal – Ready, Steady Cook style!!
Guests can then join in weekly to enjoy a sit down, table service meal. There’s no referral/criteria and everyone is welcome. Guests may find themselves hungry, lonely or would simply enjoy a delicious meal on a Thursday Evening. They rely on volunteers acting as either Cooks or Hosts for just a few hours each week.
There is no minimum commitment so volunteers can attend weekly, monthly, or even less frequently – Whatever suits the appetite & availability. It would be fantastic to see support for this brand new project and would welcome anyone 18+ to register- No need to be a Chef or Waiter!!
