One of NN team has this week received a scam text from DPD. The scam text claims that the company are unable to deliver a parcel to you as there is an unpaid shipping fee.
They ask that you click on the link to re-arrange delivery and pay the fee of £1.99. If you were to pay the money a few days later you may receive a phone call from someone claiming to be calling from your bank alerting you to potential fraudulent activity on your account. This is called ‘Spoofing’. You may then be asked to move your money into another account, controlled by the fraudsters, to prevent any further loss. Once the money has been transferred they have complete control.
