Spoofing is a type of scam that is designed to take an individuals personal information by pretending to be a business, a colleague or another innocent party. They commonly imitate well known businesses and send ‘spoof’ texts, emails and telephone calls.
Spoofers will try and obtain your information by tricking you to give over your details through an email, text and telephone calls.
Remember to always be skeptical when receiving requests for information and do not provide anything if you are not certain that you know who the person you are communicating with is.
