Family Support Assistant – Hull (Sessional)

As a Family Support Practitioner, you will be working within the Befriending Service to offer support to parents/carers of children with SEND. 

Working largely independently in the community, but supported by a wider team of interrelated services, you will train up Befriender volunteers to assist you to deliver this important programme to parents in Hull, to enable them to develop their confidence, esteem and encourage them to develop opportunities in life. 

The role will involve facilitating the peer-to-peer support, telephone support, recruiting Befriender volunteers and parents/carers to the programme, delivering training to the volunteers, supervising the volunteers, and promoting the service throughout Hull via other services or events.  
The hourly rate is £11.60 per hour plus you accrue an extra £1.40 per hour holiday pay.
