Princes Trust believe that every young person should have the chance to embrace exciting opportunities. They help 11 to 30 year-olds to find the tools and confidence to try free courses and start careers.
Working with delivery partners across the UK to offer hundreds of free courses, grants and mentoring opportunities to inspire young people to build their confidence and start a career Princes Trust will be there supporting them to achieve their full potential.
Below are just some of their current opportunities:
– Get into Retail with Marks and Spencer
Taster Day: 16th February via Microsoft Teams
Programme: Four-week programme starting 28th February
Location: Placements in Beverley, Anlaby and Kingswood
Eligibility: Young people aged 16-30 years old who are not in employment or education
The Prince’s Trust is offering a FREE four-week work experience programme, in partnership with Marks and Spencer. Take part in this exciting opportunity and learn valuable skills for your CV.
You will:
– Gain essential retail work experience
– Develop employability and customer service skills
– Take part in workshops to develop employability skills
– Receive six months of mentoring support
– You’ll even get the opportunity to gain a three-month paid contract on successful completion of the course, with placements available in stores across Hull.

– Team
Programme: Runs for 12 weeks – new courses starting in January.
Team is aimed at young people who are unemployed and between 16 and 25, supporting them to gain new skills, meet new people and ultimately be ready for work.
We pack a lot into our 12-week Team programme, designed to help uncover hidden talents and improve confidence, as well as gain a nationally-recognised qualification, and develop key English and Maths skills.
On the course, you can expect:
– A unique learning space for 16 to 25-year-olds
– A mixture of online and offline learning and activities
– A Level 1 / Level 2 City & Guilds Qualification with no exams – including a practical assessment with minimal coursework
– A three-day residential trip – giving young people a chance to experience outdoor adventure activities and team building
– An opportunity for a work placement in a chosen field
– Volunteer led workshops – including money management, interview skills, gambling awareness etc.
– Positive outcomes and destinations – two out of three participants are in work or further education within three months of completion
– Eligibility for £30 per week bursary to fund travel and other expenses

-Enterprise
Location: Open to all of Yorkshire and the Humber via Microsoft Teams Next programme starts: 1st February 2021
Eligibility: Those aged 18-30 would would like to start a business
Do you work with a young person who wants to start their own business, or would like to work for themselves?
The Prince’s Trust Enterprise programme supports any young person aged 18-30 to build business skills and empowers them to launch a business, or go freelance. With extensive support from our team of Enterprise Youth Delivery Leads, followed by business mentorship up to two years after they launch their business, it provides extended and invaluable support. Our Enterprise programme has no cost to participants.
Young people can gain access to an online hub of resources, a business course, up to three years of one-to-one and mentor support pre and post business launch, access to start-up funding and test-trade grants.
