It is reported that there are more than 40 million people worldwide living in slavery today and that the figure could be upwards of 100,000 people within the UK .
Unseen are a UK wide Anti-Slavery charity providing direct support services to survivors as well as a number of resources – including the Modern Slavery Helpline – to help businesses, professionals and members of the public play their part in tackling this heinous crime.
This session, delivered by Rachel Harper from Unseen, is open to all whether a representative from a local business, a professional or a member of the public. It will seek to explain a little more about the work undertaken by the Charity and the resources they provide. They’ll be an emphasis on the Modern Slavery Helpline, and the practicalities of what happens if someone calls, which in turn we hope will offer you a better understanding of what you can do if you have concerns about something relation to modern slavery within your community.
Due to the size of the audience, it is essential for you to mute your mic unless invited to ask a question. Chat function will be available throughout.
The sessions are open to all, are free and will take place virtually on:
August 9th 1:30pm – 2:15pm
August 19th 1:30pm – 2:15pm
