This family session will include lots of nature-related activities including: stone-painting; making a miniature garden; pond-dipping; ‘be a bee’ (collect nectar like you were a pollinator); making a bug hotel; leaf identification and printing.
The session will include a walk round ‘The Plot’ – within the 1 acre community site, comprising mature woodland, tree nursery, wildflower meadow, nature pond, food growing area and mini orchard.
Light refreshments will be offered and all equipment and materials will be provided, but you might want to bring your own cold drinks.
Accompanying adults (maximum two per child) go free, as do under-3s.
Please bear in mind that the site is a working allotment and woodland area, which includes some narrow paths and uneven ground. Down to Earth Hull is keen to welcome people of all abilities to the site but is conscious that parts of the site are not accessible to all, so anyone with mobility issues or related health conditions is advised to contact us in advance for a friendly chat about how we can best accommodate specific needs.
For any specific questions about the workshop, or for any general enquiries about Down to Earth Hull, please e-mail down-2-earth@outlook.com or call Karen on 07531191867 for a friendly chat.
