The Neighbourhood Network is pleased to announce they have been funded by Heart Research UK to help residents look after their heart health.
The ‘HU7 Healthy Hearts Project’ is aimed at reducing the risk of heart disease in adults living in the area of Hull. The activities will have additional benefits of long-term education and intergenerational connections that encourage all within a family to understand the benefits of having a healthy heart.
Two 12-week programmes will be run with the first programme starting in January 2024 and the second in May 2024 with up to 20 people taking part in each activity programme. Participants can range from 18 to 80 and include family members, couples, friends, and individuals living in the Hull area.
Participants will commit to take part in two weekly fitness sessions and a weekly cooking session at the Alf Marshall Community Centre at the following times:
Fitness : Saturday morning 9.15am-10am and 10.15am-11.15am.
Cooking Class: Thursday evening 6.30pm-8.30pm, this session will also incorporate some form of exercise.
