13th March 2023Hull: Exciting vacancy at HomeStart
15th March 2023Community take positive action in West Hull green space
Nestled between Graham Avenue, St Nicholas Avenue and Hessle High Road, is a unkept and unloved waste land that is crying out for some TLC. So what better way to achieve this then by organising a community get together event armed with litter pickers, plenty of rubbish bags and some chocolate brownies to keep our energy levels going.
Not only was the sun shining but we enlisted the support from the local community to get involved and tidy this green area up!!
Special thanks to all the residents who joined us, we made such a great start and collected over 20 bags of rubbish, not only that but we made a start to the creation of a community group that will continue to look after this area in years to come.
Thank you to Councillor Henry and PCSO Ian Ferguson who also joined us.
Since the event, we have registered our concerns with the local council to action removal of additional waste, which includes bulky items and asbestos. We are hoping these actions will take place within the coming weeks and plan to organise another event in April to keep the momentum going.
