The Tackling Inequalities Fund was designed as a targeted fund to deal with the ‘here and now’ issues caused as a result of coronavirus and aims to help reduce the negative impact on activity levels of under-represented groups.
Sport England insight has shown that certain groups of people have been disproportionately affected by the coronavirus pandemic and it was significantly impacting their ability to be physically active. These groups are;
The Tackling Inequalities Funding is to help get people from the above groups back into the activities they organise and help recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Groups may apply for grants up to £10,000.
The funding comes from Sport England, and for the Humber the funding is distributed by Active Humber on behalf of Sport England.

To ensure the funding reached those most in need, Active Humber set out to work with organisations already working with the target groups. 62% of organisations that received funding were new to Active Humber.
