June - A month of creativity, community & connection!

June has been a month bursting with energy, ideas and togetherness across our Neighbourhood Network. The Menopaus'ull Support Network kicked off its very first Menopaus'ull Production planning session, bringing women together to shape the look and feel of the upcoming play. Attendees created a vibrant vision board, shared ideas on scenery and colour palettes, and helped set the creative tone for what promises to be a powerful community production.

At the Community Centre, preparations are in full swing for our annual HU7 Youth Summit in partnership with Corner House. This much‑loved event will bring services from across Hull together under one roof to showcase what they do, with plenty of fun, hands‑on activities for local young people… and yes, even some free chips and ice-cream!

We also saw the launch of our new chair‑based exercise classes, which have already become a highlight of the week. They offer gentle movement, a friendly atmosphere, and the perfect excuse to stay for a cuppa and a chat afterwards. Meanwhile, Yoga with Paige returned for its second programme and once again proved to be a huge hit with participants.

Our brilliant garden volunteer group has been working wonders too, transforming the RHS Songbird Garden space into something truly beautiful — especially impressive given the recent weather. And to top it all off, the team hosted a special social club session to celebrate the start of the World Cup, bringing neighbours together for football, fun and community spirit.

🎤 A quick reminder…

There will be a singer at the Alf Marshall Community Centre Social Club on Tuesday 30th June, 1–3pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy an afternoon of music and good company for just £3 pp donation!

If you do want to get involved with our garden, or any of our activities, please get in touch on 01482 826061 ✨
