Trail Camera – Project now finished

Trail Camera

One of the benefits of being a member of the Neighbourhood Network is to take advantage of the many free services that it offers.  One of these is the loan of a free CCTV camera for a period of 4 weeks.  The offer is primarily taken up by groups such as allotment groups wanting to gather crime intelligence for assessment as to whether the site wishes to purchase their own camera as a crime prevention tool.

The Acorn Covert HD Trail camera trap is ideal for semi covert, instant deployment surveillance operations and ideal for remote use in remote locations.  The camera requires no access to mains power, but will operate on one set of batteries for up to 6 months. The unit is also weatherproof and uses infra-red night vision (no glow LEDs) up to 82 feet / 25m.

The camera shoots sharp, bright colour pictures/videos in the daytime and high quality black & white at night and the images are sent to a phone or laptop, dependant on the set up.

The 4 week free loan includes:

  • An Acorn camera, DC power supply
  • 1 x 18GB, 1 x 32GB micro SD cards and adapters
  • PNY high performance SD card reader with USB connection
  • 12 x AA rechargeable batteries and AA battery charger
  • Mounting straps
  • Instruction manual
  • Acorn installation CD
