Future Shift is a fully funded project that is part of Time Bank Hull and East Riding. Future Shift gives those seeking work the opportunity to go beyond the usual employment support services and really explore all of their available choices.
Using a bespoke combination of 1:1 coaching, peer mentoring and training Future Shift not only encourages participants to consider what they really want so they can enjoy their time at work, they also give practical support and training for those who wish to be self employed, start a business or launch a co-operative.
TimeBank was established in 2012 and launched Future Shift from December 2019 and they are dedicated in supporting people to explore their choices around work and training and help them to get to where they want to be and offering support to those people in Hull looking for work, wanting to start a business or interested in full time training.
This service is open to people aged 16+ who are unemployed or looking to set up a small business in certain Hull city postcodes. They are able to offer free refurbished IT equipment and support to assist with job searching if this is needed.
Future Shift hold informal drop-ins to chat about the world of work and are more than happy to meet with participants at a pre-arranged time. They also hold friendly group sessions looking at employment choices using 1:1 support. They also host inspiring teatime and evening talks from local people of their interesting experiences of working life.
