Today (Friday 25 June 2021) marks the end of our first week in the month-long intensification period for #OpGalaxy.
In a bid to continue to disrupt and dismantle criminality, our #OpGalaxy officers are ramping up proactive work throughout our Force areas for a four-week intense period.
In the first week, 51 people have been arrested across Hull, East Yorkshire and North and North East Lincolnshire on suspicion of crimes relating to organised crime, drug-related offences, violent crime, robbery, burglary and anti-social behaviour.
Following this, eight warrants have been executed with seven people arrested as a result. A quantity of cash and drugs have also been seized.
At one warrant, which was executed yesterday (Thursday 24 June 2021), #OpGalaxy officers descended on a property on Warley Road, Scunthorpe and seized a firearm, two mopeds and five bikes.
Five people remain in custody whilst our enquiries are ongoing.
Superintendent Paul Butler leading the operation said: “All of our teams throughout Humberside Police continue to make our area a hostile place for criminals and we ask anyone with any information about crime in our area to get in touch.
“Your information helps us to build up the wider picture and take action against those involved in crime, helping to ensure this remains a great place to live, work and visit.
We are encouraging anyone with information about crime, drugs or weapons in their area to contact us on our non-emergency number 101 so we can investigate and take the appropriate action.
You can also report this anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
