Gary Auty (43) of Rose Avenue in Hull was sentenced to 45 months in jail for his part in three burglaries in one night around the Newland Avenue area of Hull in May 2022.
He was charged with the offences that happened in the early hours of Saturday 14 May. One of Auty’s victims was confronted in his home, with him falsely claiming that he had a knife with him just to make his victim even more fearful.
He appeared at Hull Crown Court last Thursday and was sentenced to 45 months in jail.
Speaking after the sentencing Detective Sergeant Andrew Bradley said, “People should feel safe in their beds at night without the fear of criminals like Gary Auty coming into their homes.
“I want to thank the victims for the help they have given to our investigation. I am pleased that for their sake’s the judge has handed this strong sentence down.”
