26th January 2024Hull City Council Community Plan 2024-2034
Hull City Council’s new Community Plan will shape the city for the next decade. It was approved with cross-party support at November 2023’s full council meeting. They created the plan in partnership with local organisations and Hull residents.
Before the plan was written, partners spoke to people in Hull about their future hopes for the city and themselves. Many people also took part in a questionnaire, either online or on paper. This helped find out what matters most to local people.
These priorities have shaped a set of 6 ambitions and 3 commitments. These will now provide a focus for the council and other organisations in the city as they work with residents and communities to deliver a new vision for Hull over the next 10 years.
The 6 ambitions are –
- safe and welcoming neighbourhoods
- a healthier and fairer Hull
- reaching our potential
- economic growth that works for all
- responding to the climate and nature emergency
- our culture, our heritage, our city
The 3 commitments are –
- engagement of all residents and communities
- strong, united leadership committed to improving outcomes
- a focus on inclusion
By working together, making the views and voices of Hull residents and communities the priority, it will ensure future plans for Hull are determined by all those living and working in the city. It is a plan for the city and by the city.
The plan is available to view and download.
