25th August 2023Hull City Council – Crime Prevention Fund.
This fund aims to support the costs of crime prevention measures and help community groups to undertake projects that reduce crime and antisocial behaviour and improve feelings of safety. Funding will focus on engaging, enabling, and empowering communities to develop community safety solutions.
Grants are available for not-for-profit organisations, neighbourhood watch groups, and residents’ associations across Hull to deliver projects and activities that help reduce crime and antisocial behaviour and improve community safety.

Value Notes
There are three tiers of funding available:
- Small grants of between £500 and £5,000.
- Medium grants of between £5,001 and £15,000.
- Large grants of between £15,001 and £25,000.
Match Funding Restrictions
Applicants should have a match funding contribution of at least 10% of the value of the project or 30% where the match funding is provided by an Area Committee of the Council such as Ward Budgets Allocation, either as a direct financial contribution to the project’s costs and or as an in-kind contribution, such as staff or volunteer time.
Who Can Apply
The following can apply:
- Not-for-profit organisations such as charities, social enterprises, and community groups.
- Neighbourhood watch groups.
- Residents’ associations.
Groups must:
- Have formal governance documents in place with a management team/board of trustees of at least three people who are not related.
- Have a bank account in the name of the organisations with at least two unrelated signatories.
- Have appropriate insurance in place, such as public liability insurance.
- A safeguarding policy (if working with children).
