2nd May 2023Hull teen sentenced for sex offences
A manipulative and perverted man who preyed on teenager girls has been sentenced at Hull Crown Court to four years and 10 months behind bars.
Kai Hutchinson, 18, of Pembroke Grove, Hull appeared at Hull Crown Court for sentencing on Friday 31 March, after he entered a guilty plea for five counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child and three counts of sexual communications with a child at an early court appearance.
The sexual predator, Hutchinson, targeted four young girls through social media sites between November 2021 and October 2022 with the intention to gain their trust and take advantage of them in a bid to fulfil his sexual pleasure.
Hutchinson made contact with each of the girls and manipulated them into feeling sorry for him in attempt to get each girl to send him indecent images of themselves. He would also send his own sexually explicit images.
On two occasions, he manipulated the girls into meeting up with him in public places, where he sexually abused them.
DC Wharf leading the investigation said: “Firstly, I would like to praise the decision of Hutchinson’s victims in coming forward.
“I know how incredibly difficult it can be to come forward and take that first step but, by reporting these offences to us, they have helped us bring this perverted man to justice.
“I would like to express my sincere thanks to his victims who have showed nothing but bravery and courage throughout the course of the investigation and court proceedings.
“I hope the sentencing will provide them with some closure in knowing this predator can no longer cause harm to them or any other child.
“We take reports of sexual assault and sexual offences incredibly seriously and will continue to seek prosecution against anybody who thinks it is okay to commit these types of offences.
“It is never the victim’s fault and I would strongly appeal for any child who believes they are being manipulated into doing something they don’t want to, to speak with a trusted adult or friend and report it to us.
“Through partnership working with social services and family support teams, the victims and their families in this case have been able to access invaluable support, which is something we offer to all victims of child sexual offences.
“You will be listened to and we will continue to take action against offenders.”
