25th August 2023Man charged with attempted murder after ‘knife attack’ in Hull city centre.
A man has been charged with attempted murder following a reported knife attack in Hull city centre.
The suspect allegedly threatened another man with what was believed to be a firearm in the early hours of Saturday morning. He then reportedly went on to assault the victim with a knife, leaving him with a serious injury to his neck.
The man was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment. Eugen Militaru, aged 41, Grove Street, Hull has since been charged with attempted murder, actual bodily harm, and possession of a knife. He was remanded in custody to appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court this morning.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “A man has been charged following a serious assault in Hull City Centre in the early hours of Saturday 12 August. Eugen Militaru, aged 41, Grove Street, Hull has been charged with attempted murder, actual bodily harm, and possession of a knife.
“He was remanded into custody to appear at Hull Magistrates Court this morning (Monday 14 August). It is reported that a man had threatened another man with what was believed to be a firearm and then reportedly went on to assault him with knife.
“The man was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment for a serious injury to his neck.”
