Since April 2023 Safer Hull have delivered 54 fraud and cyber awareness events across the Humberside Police force area engaging with 1162 individuals.
The individuals taking part in these courses have been both a mix of professionals from a range of sectors including voluntary and community groups, faith groups, the education sector, the public and private sectors as well as the wider public.
These events have included a mix of online webinars and face to face training workshops as well as having stalls at community events.
They have also supported 806 victims to make reports to Action Fraud in this period and have provided signposting and referrals to the relevant agencies that can provide support and guidance to these victims.
That’s 1968 individuals that have been engaged as part of the project.
Future plans for the next period are to continue the project going forward. They are still looking for organisations to make a pledge to the scheme about what they will do to support victims of fraud and cybercrime. They also plan to develop some new localized resources that cover information relating to coercive control linked to fraud and financial abuse in response to national resources that are also being developed.
