Trigger Fraud Alert (October 2023)

Elderly residents in the Scunthorpe area are being targeted by fraudsters.

Message from Humberside Police:
Police officers will not call asking for help with any investigation, certainly not one into a bank nor will banking officials.

If in doubt, use another device to call your bank separately.

Take your time to consider what is being asked by you and if any concerns always hang up, ensure the other person has cleared, or use a different phone to call 101.

In raising awareness of this type of fraud, FraudWatch have also created a graphic highlighting this incident and ask that you share this with your networks as it could happen anywhere within the force area.
