In reaction to the country locking down in March and normal classroom training being postponed, the Neighbourhood Network Team was quick to adapt their training offer though the use of Zoom.
In April the team started by offering Cyber Awareness training in partnership with PC Alistair Kennedy from Humberside Police’s Economic Crime Unit. This training over Zoom became popular and was well received. Other subjects were added and partnership work with other organisations strengthened.
The aim of the training is to provide as much information to members enabling them to feel better informed, so there is less chance of them falling victim to potential crimes. Each session is delivered by an expert and then a Q&A is available at the end. The different training available to member groups and wider Humberside residents through the Keep Connected series has included:
Between April 2020 and December 2020 over 450 people have attended the Zoom training and the plan is to continue offering this training through 2021. Watch out for new subject and dates being added.

25.01.21 – New Year Neighbourhood Watch Natter, presented by the NN team at 7pm
27.01.21 – Social Media and Neighbourhood Watch, presented by the NN team at 10.30am
09.02.21 – Cyber Awareness session presented by PC Alistair Kennedy – time tbc
11.02.21 – Meet the Police and Crime Commissioner at 6pm
22.02.21 – Wildlife in your community chat featuring Andrew Gibson from Yorkshire Wildlife Trust at 10.30am
02.03.21 – Crime Prevention workshop, presented by PC Lee Fuller at 11am
