As a local Hull-based charity, one of our key aims at the Neighbourhood Network is to foster meaningful engagement between our members, local safety partners, and the wider community. One of the ways we do this is through our much-loved Neighbourhood Fun Days—vibrant, inclusive events held in the heart of local communities.
Each Fun Day is thoughtfully tailored to reflect the needs and interests of the area it serves. Local community groups are invited to set up activity stalls outdoors, giving residents a chance to discover what’s on offer in their own neighbourhood—from wellbeing sessions to volunteering opportunities. These events also provide a valuable platform for public services and partner agencies such as the local policing team, RENEW (drug and alcohol support), Hull City Council, local councillors, and health providers to meet residents, share information, and offer direct support.
The positive impact of these events goes far beyond the day itself. They help build trust between residents and service providers, raise awareness of available local support, and encourage people to feel more connected, informed, and empowered. They also create a safe, fun space for children and families to enjoy their local area—something that’s especially important in communities that often face social and economic challenges.
With entertainment for all ages—including fairground rides, donkey rides, face painting, arts and crafts, mascots, and more—our Fun Days are a true celebration of community spirit.
Our next event will be taking place at the Community Centre at 87 Goodhart Road, Bransholme on Saturday 28th March 2025, starting at 10.30am until 2.30pm.
We’d love to see you there—come along, meet your neighbours, and discover what’s happening in your community!
