Yearly the Neighbourhood Network Charity hosts an awards event acknowledging the hard work being undertaken across the city by its member groups, recognising the important part that Neighbourhood Network groups play in making their local communities safer.
In September 2016 the Annual Awards Event at the Goodfellowship Inn, Cottingham Road and was attended by over 100 guests. Speakers for the evening consisted of Humberside Police’s Crime Prevention Officer Andy Allen, Volunteer Engagement Manager Harriet Johnson of Hull UK City of Culture 2017 Thomas G Martin High Sheriff of the East Riding of Yorkshire 2016-17 and Chief Inspector Duncan Collins of Humberside Police.
The judging for this year’s awards took place at the Neighbourhood Network’s Bransholme office on Thursday 15th September, where the independent panel decided on 32 shortlisted entries and 7 winners over the 7 categories. All shortlisted entries were recognised at the event by the awarding of a certificate of achievement, however the evenings eventual winners were as follows:
