While attending schools and colleges young people are required to make decisions on their future, leading them down certain employment pathways which may not always be the right choices for them.
Offering young people an option of volunteering in areas they are thinking of choosing for a career path can give them a real insight and feel for things to come.
The Neighbourhood Network has done just that with volunteer Jodie Lough. Currently studying for her A Levels, she is keen to join the Police Force after University. Jodie regularly volunteers her time in attending and supporting the Neighbourhood Network namely working on Humberside Police’s Demand Reduction Initiatives. Being part of the outreach team Jodie is gaining knowledge on basic crime Prevention, observing how partnership work can really make a difference in communities and gaining an understanding of the roles, tasks and issues the Police face on a daily basis.
It is a pleasure for the Neighbourhood Network to work with Jodie, she is extremely keen and has a bright future ahead of her and we look forward to working with her and seeing where her future plans take her!
