A whole year since we received our
Songbird Survival Garden!
Can you believe it’s been a whole year since we had the privilege of attending RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025, to reveal the fabulous Songbird Survival Garden, destined for our community centre here in Hull.
Since its official launch in July, we’ve welcomed thousands of visitors, young and old, who have enjoyed this beautiful space together. In 2025 alone, our amazing volunteers have contributed over 800 volunteer hours helping the garden and community continue to thrive!
We were also fortunate recipients of a wonderful rat sculpture “Songbirds Paradise” from the fabulous rat trail, which has become a much-loved addition to the garden!
Over the past year, the space has continued to grow with new additions, such as:
🌱 A sensory garden ☀️ A new sun shade 🥕 Raised vegetable beds 🌿 A greenhouse 🎨 A children’s painted trail
Most recently, we’ve received a 90-year-old phone box, kindly donated by KCOM which, after renovation, will become a community library and seed store, something we’re incredibly excited about.
Thank you to everyone who has visited (including the incredible wildlife), volunteered, supported, donated and believed in this special space. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings.
If you do want to get involved with our garden, please get in touch on 01482 826061 💚
