28th May 2026A whole year since we received our Songbird Survival Garden!
28th May 2026Great day had by all at our ‘West Carr Family Fun Day’

The West Carr Family Fun Day held on Saturday 9th May at the Alf Marshall Centre was a huge success, bringing families together for a day full of laughter, fun and community spirit – all under beautiful sunshine.

The event had something for everyone to enjoy. The Hull KR trophy proved to be a massive hit with visitors, while the bouncy castle was packed all day with excited children and smiling faces. Many people also had the chance to try something new on the climbing wall and at the archery activities, which were both incredibly popular and we saw many smiling faces on the donkey rides with many saying it was their child’s first time on one.
There was fantastic entertainment throughout the day too, including a traditional Punch and Judy show and an amazing magic show that kept children and adults entertained alike. Visitors also enjoyed browsing the wonderful stalls and speaking to local services that came together to help create such a special community event.

The impact of the event was huge with one attendee saying “Families kept arriving in abundance, there were happy faces everywhere! You could easily see that extended families were arriving, ready for some good family fun.”

We would firstly like to thank the West Carr Ward councillors Rob Pritchard, Tracey Neal & Christine Randall for funding the event and of course a huge thank you goes to everyone who held a stall, supported and attend the day. It was a wonderful example of the community coming together to create lasting memories for local families.
