Knife Crime and serious violence

Sadly, knife crime is once again in the news.

Did you know:-

• Knife crime across the country has risen by a staggering 21 per cent in the 12 months to September 2017, according to the Office of National Statistics.
• In the first three months of 2018, 26 people were murdered by knives.  Six of them were teenagers and most of them were black.  Young men are the most likely group to be involved in knife crime, both as victims and perpetrators.
• Police records show 37, 443 recorded knife offences and 6,694 recorded gun offences across the UK in the year up to September 2017
• Last year, more than 19,000 people were caught carrying a knife in England and Wales.
