Hull: Investigation into assault reveals no evidence of any offence

Officers investigating reports of an assault on Beverley Road, Hull, earlier this week have today issued an update into the investigation.

Chief Superintendent Phil Ward said: “Detectives have carried out a full and thorough investigation into a report that a woman was assaulted at around 2am on Tuesday 26 February.

“We have found no evidence that any offence was committed and the woman has since withdrawn her report.

“I understand the concerns in the local community following this report and want to reassure you that we still have officers out and about in the area who are more than happy to speak to anyone who has any concerns.

“We continue to work with the community and the University of Hull to offer personal safety advice and as always I would encourage people to be aware and alert to their surroundings at all times.”
