Hull: Two cars, drugs, cash and a knife seized

Humberside Police have arrested three men from Sheffield and one from Hull in connection with a number of offences after a suspected drugs deal was witnessed by officers in Hull on Monday.

Officers observed a car parked on Newington Street which was approached by a man who had walked out of a nearby address. They then saw a suspected drug deal taking place.

The 18-year-old man who’d come out of the property was arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply and money laundering. 

The 31-year-old car driver was arrested on suspicion of money laundering, possessing a controlled drug and an offensive weapon. The 25-year-old car passenger was arrested for money laundering and drug dealing. 

The vehicle they were in wasn’t insured and was seized under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act.

Inside the property officers spoke to 34-year-old Hull man who, after checks were made, was arrested and later charged with burglary.

More than £1,800 in cash, over 50 wraps of class A and B drugs, equipment used for drug dealing and a knife was seized. Car keys were also found which led officers to seize a stolen car which had recently been taken from outside a property in Hessle. 

The three men in Sheffield have been bailed. The charged man, Antony Beaumont, 34, from Victoria Avenue in Hull is due to appear in court in Hull later today.

Inspector Paul Bennett said: “From officers initially seeing what they believed to be a drug deal going on in the street, we have now made four arrests, recovered a lot of items and charged a man with burglary. 

“This highlights the other crimes that can go hand-in-hand with drugs and drug dealing and why our officers are constantly vigilant when looking for drugs activity when out on patrol.

“This is a good result as well as we have arrested suspects who may have come into our force area from other places to commit these crimes.”
