Grants are available for charitable and community groups and schools in Yorkshire that are working to improve local green spaces and wildlife habitats through tree planting projects, improving access to woodland, environmental management and education projects.
The Bettys Trees for Life Fund has been established by Yorkshire institution, Bettys, as part of the activities to mark its centenary year in 2019 and aims to celebrate the company’s long-term passion for trees and desire to enhance the local environment and to improve access to and education about the natural world and the green spaces around us. The scheme is administered on its behalf by the Two Ridings Community Foundation.
Grants are available for small charities, community groups and schools across Yorkshire undertaking projects that will improve local green spaces and wildlife habitats, such as tree planting, improving access to woodland, environmental management or environmental education projects. Projects that aim to use environmental activity to promote good physical and mental health are also of interest.
Priority will be given to activities taking place in the local areas surrounding the Bettys Café Tea Rooms in York, Harrogate, Northallerton and Ilkley.
