Grants are available for local charities, grassroots groups and other not-for-profit groups to address a wide range of issues that will benefit communities in North and East Yorkshire, York and Hull.

Objectives of Fund
Two Ridings Community Foundation encourages applications from groups that:
- Support particularly disadvantaged and marginalised communities.
- Tackle challenging issues.
- Encourage inclusive community activity and participation.
- Respond to their communities’ needs.
- Engage people who face discrimination or disadvantage.
- Produce a wide range of benefits and provide good value for money.
Value Notes
The level of funding varies, depending on the grant scheme. An average award is around £3,000.

Some funds may require match funding.
Who Can Apply
Grassroots charities and community groups can apply.
Groups do not have to be registered with the Charity Commission but must fit the following criteria:
- Work primarily for the benefit of people in North and East Yorkshire, York and Hull.
- Be ‘not for profit’.
- Have a governing document (also known as a constitution, rules, memorandum, or articles of association) outlining charitable objectives.
- Have a charitable dissolution clause in the governing document.
- Have a bank account in the group/ organisation’s name with at least two signatories, who are not related to one another.
- Be locally led and run (including locally constituted and managed branches of national charities).
- Have at least three unrelated trustees, directors or management committee members.
- Be able to provide most recent annual financial accounts and any relevant safeguarding policies.
As a general rule the Foundation consider a small organisation to be those with a total annual income of under £500,000 per annum (this includes all income regardless of the source or purpose). Where it is possible within the rules of a particular grant scheme the Foundation may choose to exercise discretion if the scheme is under subscribed and where it is considered it to be in the interest of the community to do so.
