Today the 10 year-old girl who sadly died in a fire on Wensley Avenue on Saturday 25 January has been formally identified as Paige Bolton.
The fire service and police continue to work together to establish the cause of the fire which remains as unexplained at this time.
The post mortem examinations of both Paige and her father Garry have been carried out. There are further toxicology reports to be received before we can fully establish the cause of their deaths.
Chief Superintendent Darren Downs said: “We are continuing to support the families of those involved at this very difficult time. They have asked for their privacy to be respected as they come to terms with their loss.
“Investigations into this kind of incident are very complex and take time to complete and we would continue to ask that people avoid speculating about the circumstances and if you have any information you believe would assist our investigation, please get in touch on our non-emergency 101 line, quoting log number 127 of 25 January.”
