Hull: Two 13-year-olds charged with burglary

Two 13-year-old boys have been charged in connection with a burglary on Staines Close in Hull last week.

The first boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, driving without insurance and driving without a license. He appeared at Hull Magistrates Court yesterday morning, Monday 20 April.

The second boy, who also cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with burglary and knowing that a motor vehicle had been taken without consent of the owner. He has been bailed with conditions to appear at Hull Youth Court next month.

Police were called on Friday, 17 April, with reports that someone had broken into a property on Staines Close early that morning before stealing a car from outside. The car was reportedly driven, before being left damaged and abandoned in the road nearby.

– Make sure your doors and windows are closed and locked when you’re not in the room. 

– Make sure nothing of value (including your car key) is left on show to tempt thieves into your property.
