Fraudulent Santander text

This week we have been informed of a text scam.

The text reads ” A payment was attempted from a new device on *date*. If this was not you please visit our website” and provides a link.

The links contained within the texts direct recipients to a fake website where they are asked to enter their username and password. The scam is designed to trick recipients into handing over their personal details, pay money or download a virus.

If you have responded to a message that you suspect to be a scam and gave your bank account details, you should contact your bank immediately.
