26th January 2022Hull: Cold-hearted robbers jailed

Two people have been jailed for a cold-hearted robbery which happened in May of 2021.
Bernadette Dunn (38), of Enstone Garth in Hull, and Andrew Brayshaw (43), of Hessle Road in Hull, pleaded guilty to a robbery which happened on the 15 May 2021 on Axminster Close in Hull.
The pair appeared at Hull Crown Court on Friday 21 January 2022 charged with the robbery of a vulnerable man in his 60s who’d recently suffered a stroke. The victim was forced to the floor while Dunn and Brayshaw stole his money and cigarettes.
When they appeared in court the pair were sentenced to serve three years and nine months in jail.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Bradley said, “I am pleased to see this cold-hearted couple be sentenced for their crime.
“The poor victim was recovering from a stroke at the time of the incident and was extremely vulnerable. I hope that this sentence will give him the sense that justice has been served and this pair will be off our streets for the next three years.
“I hope that their time in prison will allow them to reflect on the impact their crime had on the victim.”
