15th June 2022National Response Policing ‘Week of Action’ 13th – 19th June
Message from Humberside Police:
This week marks the start of National Response week, the beginning of the second National Response Policing ‘Week of Action’, which in addition to celebrating the professionalism and courage of Response Officers, is also an opportunity to recognise the challenges facing Response Policing and consider the future development of a key role that sits at the heart of policing.
Ahead of Response Week, Chief Constable Lee Freeman said: “National Response week is a great opportunity for us all to recognise and raise the profile of our response and patrol teams for everything they do to protect the public.
“Since I became Chief in 2017, our patrol teams have been fundamental in delivering the improvements that this force has seen in the past 5 years.
“Throughout next week, you will read stories that highlight their incredible work – from securing the arrest of dangerous and violent offenders, safeguarding the most vulnerable in our society and our proactive work to recover drugs and property.
“I am always impressed by how our teams go above and beyond to ensure the safety of others and put victims at the heart of your investigations, both at scenes and after.
“Our initial response to incidents frequently sets the tone and makes a real difference to how a victim then engages with us, and this initial service is critical whether the crime is investigated by the attending officer or passed to colleagues in PPT, CID or Specialist Crime teams.
“Having been a patrol officer myself for six years, I know the role is challenging, and for many people, our patrol officers are the visible face of Humberside Police when dealing with difficult, often life-changing events.
“The Response Week of Action provides an opportunity for all forces to highlight the vital role that Response Officers play in protecting the public and keeping communities safe.
“Thank you for your continued support”.
