Moving Forward is a support programme for people who have completed hospital-based treatment for primary breast cancer. Because many people struggle to return to everyday life after treatment – coping with the emotional impact, side effects, and fears about recurrence – the course provides a safe, supportive space to help them adjust.
The face-to-face course runs over two half-day sessions, one week apart, and includes open conversations, peer support, and guidance from trained facilitators and volunteers with lived experience. A breast care nurse also joins for a Q&A session.
Participants also gain access to online presentations from experts and a Moving Forward journal to support their wellbeing throughout the course.
A new course is starting in Hull on 13 and 20 February 2026, and organisations are encouraged to help promote it. People can self-refer and book via the Breast Cancer Now website Moving Forward face-to-face course | Breast Cancer Now or by calling 0345 077 1893.
