New local Dragon Boat programme

Fitmums and Friends are proud to announce the launch of an exciting new Dragon Boat programme designed to support people affected by breast cancer. Delivered by Fitmums and Friends in partnership with HER Breast Friends and Welton Waters Adventure Centre, the new initiative offers a fun, supportive and empowering way to be active while connecting with others who understand the breast cancer journey.

Thanks to generous funding from Hull Trinity House Charity and CHCP Foundation, the programme has been able to purchase two brand new Dragon Boats, proudly named HOPE and HARMONY.

Research has shown that dragon boat paddling can offer significant benefits following breast cancer treatment, helping improve strength, mobility, confidence and wellbeing. The paddling action may also help enhance lymph flow, which can support the body’s natural systems. Importantly, the programme is open to anyone affected by breast cancer — not just women — and welcomes all abilities and fitness levels.
