13th June 2025Activity Lead Job – Special Stars Foundation.

Activity Lead is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in direct service delivery to people with special educational needs and disabilities.
The Activity Lead will play a critical role in supporting the smooth running and development of the activities provided to service users by the Foundation. This will be achieved by managing the activity programme, managing activity supervisors and assistants, working in partnership with external stakeholders to further develop the programme and support, being a professional and proactive advocate for people with disabilities across Hull, East Yorkshire and beyond.
Duties
- To act as a strong advocate for Special Stars Foundation and the human rights and equality of people living with disabilities.
- To develop trusting and key relationships with service users providing continuity and being the “front-facing” person in the activity delivery.
- To be responsible for the development and delivery of the activity programme strategy to deliver a fun, inclusive activity programme.
- To lead the planning, development and operational delivery of existing activities and new activities that will support service users requirements.
- To work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and drive forward promotion of the activity programme to reach existing and new audiences, including developing content for social channels, e-comms, webpages and information leaflets.
- To lead on establishing a network of external activity providers to support the development of the activity programme.
- To act as spokesperson/ ambassador for Special Stars Foundation attending awareness raising events, information providing events as required (shared with other members of staff and other trustees).
- Ensure that all activities and contacts are managed through Special Stars Foundation’s Charity systems and procedures and that data is kept up to date, accurate and records are organised in-line with GDPR requirements.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- experience in delivering activities to service users.
- a genuine interest, experience and knowledge in working with children and adults with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
- be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of disability (e.g. local and national specialist services/ charities/ schools/ EHCPS etc.)
- have experience of developing and leading on annual operating plans in line with strategic goals.
- have good knowledge of and experience of working with databases including the collection and storage of data in line with GDPR.
- have experience and working knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

Pay: £24,000.00 per year
