December Crime Prevention Focus: Cycle Theft Prevention

Over December the Neighbourhood Network will be focusing crime reduction equipment available in our online shop.

This weeks focus is cycle theft prevention and on our Sold Secure D Locks. With lots of new bikes being purchased this Christmas, its important that they are secured with a good quality lock.

In 85% of thefts within the Humberside Police region, the stolen cycles were locked, but with poor quality locks, which were easily cut.

For the past three years the Neighbourhood Network charity and Humberside Police have been jointly working to reduce cycle theft in the city and wider Humberside area, with its ‘Cycle theft – target hardening & education initiative’.

The project provides good quality Sold Secure D Locks at a reduced cost to the general public, along with giving out basic security education, property marking & immobilise registration details

To help protect your cycle from being targeted by criminals the Neighbourhood Network are selling the D Locks on special offer for December at £10 each.
