4th December 2020The Green Corridor project in Hull takes on a transformation

The Green Corridor project in Hull is a collective approach to the transformation of the Stepney Cycle Path, which runs from Duesbery Street to Stepney Lane Station. Local community groups, Berkeley Street Neighbourhood Watch, Avenues Action and Princes Avenue Community and Traders have come together to turn the area into a natural haven, eco-venue and urban sanctuary for cyclists, walkers and wildlife enthusiasts.
The latest development sees an injection of vibrant art murals, undertaken by 5 local artists from Ground on Beverley Road, portraying the history of the railway connection to Hornsea, along with featuring an abstract piece which offers a contrast to the neighbouring pieces of artwork.
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust have also been supporting the team in helping them coppice a hazel bush which hasn’t been managed for 20 years. From the cuttings an invertebrate log pile was built along with the remaining cuttings being used for den building and garden poles.
Local residents have continued to support the team by getting involved in local litter picking activities.
The team behind the Green Corridor would like to thank all artists, organisations and residents that have supported them over the year and would like to invite people to take a look at this transforming area.
