26th March 2021Would you be interested in becoming a Criminal Justice Champion?

Victim support are currently holding training sessions aimed at people who work with or have a lot of contact with the public either through employment or volunteering and may come into contact with people who have been affected by crime. As a Criminal Justice Champion, they will provide free half a day’s training to you, or your staff or volunteers to give you some background on the work of Victim Support, how crime can impact victims, how they support service users and how you can make a referral. They will also provide training on how you can provide initial support if someone you encounter discloses that they have been a victim of crime.
The next session being held is Wednesday 28th April at 10am and VS invite organisations and businesses across the region who are interested in offering this scheme to their teams, colleagues and volunteers to attend.
By becoming a champion, you can help people in your community get the support they are entitled to following a crime Victim Support will:
Provide training on the work of Victim Support Humberside and South Yorkshire.
How crime affects victims and communities.
How you can provide initial support to someone disclosing they have been a victim of crime.
How to make a referral to us How Victim Support helps victims of crime.
The training lasts about 2 hours and is currently delivered virtually. After completing the training, you will also receive their newsletters providing updates and developments in Victim Support.
