Music Sessions and the Choir at Open Doors!
29th August 2025
Chimney Fire Safety Week 2025
2nd September 2025The Diversity and Cultural Day !

This was the third and final event marking the 25th anniversary of Open Doors . It was held on June 28th at PAMC. Once again they thank the Lord Mayor of Hull, Councillor Cheryl Payne, for attending and supporting the event and the project. It was a joyous occasion, giving the opportunity for people from different cultures to share their songs, dances and stories with them and to show their native costumes. They thank in particular Adetomilda Adesanya, founder of the Yoruba L’Ede Language Consulting Ltd association, which provides language and translation and interpreting courses and promotes the Yoruba culture, heritage and traditions in Hull. She came with a group of Yoruba speakers from Nigeria, who sang and danced for them. Some of the dances were accompanied by the traditional “talking drum” which inspires the movements of the dancer and gives the dance different meanings. Adetomilda also entertained them with some traditional storytelling (see photos).
