1st June 2020Neighbourhood Watch Week is coming – 7th June – 13th June!!!!

Whether you call yourselves a Neighbourhood Watch group, Residents Group or Friends of group, the message is still the same, lets celebrate the achievements and your community by joining in with all things Neighbourhood Watch.
Neighbourhood Watch week starts on Sunday 7th June until 13th June and here at the Neighbourhood Network we have lots planned for you to get involved in.
Unfortunately, we won’t be hosting any outdoor get togethers this year, but as part of our ‘keep connected’ series, we do have a number of FREE activities taking place online. These sessions include:
Monday 8th June – General Cyber Crime Awareness @ 7pm
Hosted by PC Alistair Kennedy of the Cyber Crime Unit at Humberside Police, this popular session takes you through general ways on how you can keep yourself safe online and how criminals target people in simple yet affective ways. The feedback from this awareness session has been great so far.
Tuesday 9th June – Preventing Crime Presentation @ 2pm
Hosted by the Neighbourhood Network team, we will take you on the journey of a criminal, highlight the things they look out for and how you can protect yourselves and your property and reduce the chances of becoming a victim of crime.
Wednesday 10th June – Neighbourhood Watch and using social media @ 10.30am
Hosted by the Neighbourhood Network team, we will showcase the advantages and disadvantages of using social media for your group, highlighting tips and tricks and showcasing good examples of groups using these methods. A great session for those thinking of using social media to connect or for those using social media and want to utilise its benefits more.
Thursday 11th June – Cyber Crime: Hackers and Social Engineering @ 10.30am
Hosted by PC Alistair Kennedy of the Cyber Crime Unit at Humberside Police, this new session has been added due to interest in this part of cybercrime being raised. Social engineering is the art of how criminals manipulate people to obtain confidential information – – definitely better to be aware of these tactics.
Friday 12th June – Wildlife talk @ 10.30am
Would you like to encourage more wildlife into your garden or community green space? Do you have questions you would like answering on wildlife issues you may have? Join wildlife expert Andrew Gibson, who will be on hand to answer any of your questions.
To take part in any of these Zoom sessions, please email the team on office@nnetwork.org.uk
