8th July 2021HU4 Community Network Group

The HU4 Community Network Group was set up in August 2019 with the aim of bringing together the community that live in HU4, by means of providing updates and useful information about the area that they live in.
Since then it has developed into something much bigger. It has become apparent to the residents that the community is in need of a community space, a central point where groups can hold regular residents meetings, a room where outside service providers can hold essential appointments with the community it serves. This has become the focus of HU4.
Their passion, drive and commitment has blown us away and we are very much looking forward to seeing their plans and ideas into developing the HU4 area of the city into an even bigger and better thriving community that it very much deserves to be.
Dawn and Terry are the community champions driving this community group into the limelight and rightly so, they have created and developed a community Facebook group for the residents to share news and ideas. They have worked hard to develop a green space (Dragon Park) to make it more user friendly, by litter picking, creating community activities for all to enjoy, creating a community allotment and community library.
The group have also had to overcome issues such as Anti Social Behaviour but keep on going and are not defeated in their efforts. During the pandemic they have supported the community by creating food parcels for residents who are struggling, going above and beyond, liaising with local food suppliers, and dedicating their own time in helping others.
Most recently they have been developing an unused garage to house their Community Library.
If you live in the HU4 area and would like to get involved take a look at their Facebook page:
