Strathmore, Silverdale & Riversdale NHW

Strathmore, Silverdale & Riversdale Neighbourhood Network was initially set up in 2019 with the aim of keeping local residents updated in local matters and assisting in connecting with each other.

The SSR family have quickly developed hosting a number of events for the community. Celebrating VE Day, VJ Day, afternoon tea’s, scarecrow weekends, Halloween walk-abouts, Easter Egg Hunt’s, window Advent Calendar’s and even a visit from Father Christmas!

Community spirit and togetherness really is at the heart of the group as they strive to ensure that nobody is left out. There are many volunteers in all of the streets that keep an eye on any vulnerable adults and a trusted relationship has been developed.

One of the groups founders, Margaret, has received the Lord Mayor’s Award and has also been nominated for a Smile award, amongst others. She is very proud of how all of the community have grown, and are regularly interacting and wanting to continue and plan together for future events.

The group only accepts residents local to the streets in which they cover on social media along with representatives from other neighbouring groups.
