Humberside Police are investigating two reports made in recent weeks where young teenage boys have been approached by a man in a dark coloured vehicle and told to get in his car.
Detective Inspector Jon Cross said, “We believe these two cases may be connected and would appeal for anyone who may have seen either incident to get in touch.
The first was around 2.30pm on Friday 8 March in Borthwick Close. The second was at around 10pm on Tuesday 12 March on Norton Grove.
“We have increased patrols in the two areas, viewed CCTV from the area and followed up a number of lines of enquiry. We have also given support and advice to the boys and their families.
“The suspect is described by both boys as having tanned skin, possibly of middle-eastern origin, aged between 30 and 40, of chubby build and bald.
“We are aware that reports of this nature can cause real concern in the community and we would like to reassure residents that we are working hard to establish what happened and find the driver.
“Both boys did exactly as we would want them to. They didn’t get into the car and reported it to us as soon as possible and I would ask anyone else approached in this way to do the same.
“If you can help with the investigation, please call us on our non-emergency 101 line, quoting reference 16/35678/19.”
