Attempted handbag snatch on Calvert Lane in Hull

Humberside Police are investigating reports that an elderly woman was the victim of an attempted robbery on Calvert Lane in Hull as she walked home from the supermarket on Thursday 24 August.

The incident is reported to have happened between 8:15pm and 8:45pm on Calvert Lane at the junction of Anlaby High Road when the woman was approached from behind by two or three men said to be riding mopeds.

The men are said to have taken hold of the woman aged in her 70s and tried to grab her shoulder bag, but did not succeed.  The men then left the area in an unknown direction.

The woman was not hurt in the incident.
